However, by the time she tried to track me, all she could find was that I am both artist and dentist. Unknown of her, she happens to rent a house from one of my wife's friend who came to visit her a few months ago. This friend mentioned that she could not stay much longer since she had also arranged to visit a friend of hers whose husband is both artist and dentist. Her hope and curiosity arisen, the lady made her friend promise to try and verify that this is indeed the artist of Winter storm. Upon confirmation, secret transactions were initiated, my wife's nephew was enrolled in the rolling down and repatriating of the work to us, it was duly re-stretched, professionally photographed and finally offered to the lady by her husband for their wedding anniversary!

So, here I was, having done only the basis of the picure when I received a group of Dutch people who spent 1 day with us. And one of them decided to buy the partly done painting!

He is a good friend and he said the painting will remind him of us, of the past (through the antiquities) and of a now deceased relative who greatly encouraged me to develop this career. He is coming back to us with another group in June and will take it then, finished.

I haven't decided yet what I am going to paint next, Will let you know.

Besides everything else, I have had to cope with our garden: this is my responsibility, my joy and my relaxation (Daniele only deals with her flowers and their weeds). At long last, this winter is bringing us a lot of much needed rain. But with the combination of warm sunny days, not only are the vegetables growing beautifully, the weeds do too. They have definitively been keeping me fit!

All this gardening activity has also inspired me in trying to show you what our garden looks like. So that's what I am trying to capture right now.

It's good to be back painting again.
But I fell sick on my birthday!

I just manage to recover to go to London for my sister tomb setting and simply have not been able to paint. One of my grand children looked at the white canvas on my easel and asked me "where have the colors gone?"

I'm looking for them and will keep you posted.
Actually, it really is one painting on two canvasses: one of my favorite view from the top of Puech Sec, a mountain in the French Limousin where we have been going on family holidays for many years. My patience was rather tried by the 145 sheep I painted there but I think it was worth it.

It is the first time that I managed to finish 3 paintings in less than 1 month. Perhaps is it the prospect of our Italian holidays that stimulated me so much? Anyway, we are off in a few days and will come back just in time to hang my exhibition.

So will speak to you again on our return
Right now, I am busy finishing a picture from the back of our farm. My youngest son had suggested this painting to me and I started it last year. However, I got sick, could not finish it and had to wait until this spring to capture again the quality of the light. I have an exhibition in October at Beit Gabriel, on the shore of the sea of Galilee (Israel) and want to finish a few more paintings if I can.
